The Purple Heart is the nation's oldest military medal. Originally introduced as the Badge of Military Merit by George Washington, it has been bestowed almost two million times and is awarded to those wounded or killed in battle.
Features of the Medal:
- Condition: The medal is in great shape but the display box is in really poor shape - the top silk inside box cover is loose but still in the box
- Missing the ribbon that accompanies the medal
- Case is leather covered and in poor condition
